Unit: Graphic Design

Anika Coleman is a Graphic Design major at Virginia Tech's College of Architecture, Arts, and Design with a passion for visual storytelling across print, digital, and brand-driven media. She currently serves as a Research & Design Assistant for Rachael Paine on the CDC-funded Gulf South VECTOR project, where she creates social media graphics, marketing collateral, and infographics while managing content strategy across platforms.

Her background spans agency work, nonprofit design, brand identity, and packaging design, with previous internships at Tarte Cosmetics, Cardwell Beach Marketing Agency and Triumph NIL. Anika has also worked as a Design Committee Chair for VTHacks and served as a Project Manager for DesignUP, where she partnered with nonprofit clients to develop creative solutions under real-world constraints. Earlier in her career, she gained client support and technical experience through an internship at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

As a former competitive dancer, Anika values discipline, collaboration, and adaptability in everything she does. When she's not designing, she's likely traveling, hiking, or baking, especially sourdough, all of which inspire her appreciation for process, patience, and thoughtful craft.
