Title: Cogongrass: A New Threat to South Georgia
Resource Type: Newsletter
Description:

Cogongrass is a major invasive grass spreading through open lands and forests across the southeastern United States. Mississippi, Florida, and Alabama already have large infestations that damage both natural ecosystems and land?management efforts. Native to Southeast Asia, it was brought to the U.S. in the early 1900s for erosion control and forage, but it quickly escaped cultivation and spread throughout the region.
